Aberdeen Tomato Test
HyGrO Water vs Control (regularly used water) on Greenhouse Tomatoes in Aberdeen, South Dakota.
Tomato seeds were sown in-line with identical grow media, early 2020 at Aberdeen, South Dakota. The tomatoes were planted in a greenhouse at 75 F and watered every day with well water. Germination was not noticeably different between the four rows.
Water feed is through overhead valves flowing to Individual row drip irrigation. Soluble fertilizer with micronutrients was included in the water during irrigation on all four rows. The HyGrO System was run on two of the four rows (every other row) for a single watering of 20 minutes. After 10 days the plants receiving HyGrO water were noticeably larger and darker green.
Color and Quality Difference Noted
Showing HyGrO (right side) fruit quality improved compared to normal water (left side). Note main branch diameter increase and rich produce color.
Blossom-End Rot Reduction
Blossom-end rot normally found from time to time, was virtually non-existent on the HyGrO rows.
HyGrO plants were notably flourishing. Plants were taller, thicker, with more leaves. We noted increased plant health. On average, two times the quantity of fruit. Produce quality was rich and vibrant beyond what we saw in prior methods. Yield increased from approximately 15/per plant to 35/per plant.
All methods: watering quantity and times, growing techniques, sunlight, nutrients were the same. The only change was the use of the HyGrO system connected to the valves.
Increased Plant Health, Strength & Growth Noted
HyGrO watered plant increased 35% above the plant size of normal water.
The pictures reveal, conclusively, our assertions of what HyGrO technology does for plants:
The quantity of tomatoes increased from approximately 15/per plant to 35/per plant. The fresh weights were significantly different between the control and the treatment rows, with a dramatic positive effect for the rows receiving HyGrO water. The average Blossom Rot Ratio ‘spotting’ was drastically reduced to near zero occurrences.
The owner of the farm told us he greatly appreciated this test and looked forward to being a customer, not only for his greenhouse, but also for the additional 5,000 farming acres of multiple types of vegetables and other crops. We look forward to supplying the equipment for future tests on a variety of crops.
